On point. Over the last few years I struggled to be present, and it took a lot of conscious awareness to realize how much of my mental capacity was taken up by all sorts of digital and social media. These apps make you feel like you're connecting with friends and following the news, but it's all superficial at best. I feel the same way about video games- they give a superficial sense of accomplishment via "achievements" and "winning"... and so our very human traits of success, community, and seeking knowledge are all being captured by screens and data collectors, and that was happening before AI began doing "art" and writing for us. Some of them literally advertise themselves as "let AI imagine [this scene] for you" - as if our brains can't do that? Why would someone want to give up their brain-power to write an essay or imagine a picture? When all else is lost, our imagination is all we could possibly have left, and we are being robbed of that.
A few months ago I deleted the meta apps from my phone and began making efforts to go on 30-min walks every day, and it's been so enlightening, because I can really SEE now how the digital age has completed captured people. A zoo with us as animals is spot on.
The big difference for me is that I have to remind myself to be human! Nuts right? Lately I’m making a habit of being present for the dawn turning into sunrise. That includes hearing the first song of the kookaburras and then hearing the cacophony of the other birds joining in.
I’m also close to my neighbours 3 girls and that translates into making them hot chocolates at my kitchen bench, drawing or bird watching. And those interactions fill me with joy.
By the same token I have to work consciously to not switch off my feelings when confronted with the craziness of life and the world.
How am i being impacted? It's a struggle to be a human, and even if i manage that then it's a struggle to be and stay centered. Particularly challenging to go out there and deal with other humans, almost all of whom are digitally transformed if not digitally captured. Probably makes it worse that i clearly remember times when it was not so.
I try to spread human energy when i can, via kindness, as AI has no idea what that is about. Or via expressing feelings. and talking about how we are being turned into robots, vs the other way around.
Hey Jeff, I think the trick is to find other people who are likewise working to hold onto their humanity and who are. Curious about what’s going on. I hope you have some in your neck of the woods.
Berkeley, Ca is particularly void of such people. There's only one person i know in town whom i can fully interact with, i.e. be totally honest about how i view the world. Most of my friends have gone Covidian. And even a small group of resistance people i was getting together with regularly have demonstrated an incapacity to go beyond their 2020 mindset, "shots are bad, RFK Jr is good."

In my humble opinion, anyone who is really hip to COVID, i.e. knows ALL the facts, could in no way love RFK Jr given that he's pushing the "Pandemic"/"COVID-19"/"SARS-Cov-2” fraud narrative. And there's lot of ignorance about Palestine, including the notion that this all started Oct 7 2023 or that "the Jews" (of today) are all descended from the people inhabiting the area in Biblical times. Media disinformation runs deep. I've done what i can, including the program with Eric back on 10/20/23.
But at least you do have a local cafe for social contact. The lockdown led the the loss of the last descent cafes in this town, all that's left is hi tech plastic junky places filled with people doing nothing but screen gazing.

Although the person said he was glad I said something, (surely he was feeling my energy) his response has not proved that he is glad. It was a conversation about something that I paid for, bought from him, and the product he delivered was inferior. I told him that I felt misled. He denied that he had made the promise he made. I could tell that our whatsapp conversation had been altered. He was trying to gas-light me. If he'd just said circumstances had changed and I could not deliver what I promised I would have been ok. But instead he denied the conversation we'd had. I am working on discernment, knowing who to trust and who not to trust and from now on best to get agreements in writing

I was awake at 2:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. Interesting, complex thoughts about multiple people. Got up but didn’t want to wake anyone…laid awake for a while…fell asleep long enough to dream of being with a lot of people in a hotel. They didn’t want me to go home, but didn’t want to do what it takes to stay again (contact the front desk and pay for another night $500). I stayed, most of the people left. One person egotistical talked about their hair and face. “Once the hair is gone…an interesting face”. Alarm sounded.
I also couldn’t sleep last night, from 1:30 - maybe 3. Felt very disturbed, unable to place it though. Had lots of dreams and can’t remember them now. Thought about messaging friends in other time zones but was too exhausted.
