There is a great book about the beginning of the electric age by Wolfgang Schivelbusch. It goes into detail about people’s concerns and fears of what it might do to humanity. Disenchanted Night.

He’s very readable. As long as we are talking about him, he wrote another good book about spices and substances that give pleasure, Tastes of Paradise. Someday I’ll read his others.

I’m intrigued by what you are noticing about the electrical atmosphere’s effects on us. Im wondering if it could explain diseases like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. There is a lot to explore. Thanks for your thinking and insight.

Hi Eric, I haven't read your essay yet. I wanted to say that the photos are gorgeous, particularly the little goats!

...and thank you for noticing my photographs...

I always look at your photos but it's true to say I rarely comment. The misty morning, the goats are a nice contrast to the smells of spring here in eastern Australia. The birds are vibrant, there's blossom on all of my citrus plants ( they're not big enough to be called trees) and I can smell the jasmine growing on my neighbour's fence.

My kitten, Artemis, is a delight and thriving and she's my go to when I'm feeling out of sorts.

I also love that you've met Lorraine. My neighbour's youngest in turning 7 on Monday and she's a force to be reckoned with too.

I am in LOVE with those goats, and the farmers have a spitfire girl of about 7 named Lorraine who has the names of all thirty or so memorized. It's hilarious. When I am feeling blue I go there and feed them crabgrass and we smell one another.

The previous Chiron-Eris conjunction coincided with a life-changing event - broke the mold.

I should also like to point out that The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars came out in 1972. I give you Rock and Roll Suicide as a song that is meaningful to the disenfranchised and so a potential positive expression of Chiron conjunct Eris.

Your list of reactions is interesting. Even so, some of us may have attributed some of those responses to other transits. And/or some of us were born with sextiles between Chiron and Eris. We may therefore be more sensitive to related transits.

Bob

I am not relating the reactions to transits. I am attributing them to the digital environment.

A friend of mine said, “I wish people would wake up!” To which I replied, “”How do I even know if I’m awake??”

Chiron Meets Eris: The Healer Meets Chaos.... and the Healing Crisis erupts.

I enjoy reading you, Eric. Your writing is deep and relevant for this " digital " age..

Will gentle Chiron help us survive the " digital crisis?"

Hope and doubt are side by side. This creates tension and confusion.

But Chiron is stronger than Eris and will guide us find our way back to humanity and freedom.

And so it will be.
