I am always amazed that the CIA knew everything the Iranian Revolutionaries were doing and planning. Knew of the hostage taking..... so what did the CIA do?
Warn all americans at the US Embassy about hostage taking?
NO instead the CIA agents/officers slinked on out of Iran to vacation while leaving the embassy workers to suffer the pain of 444 days in captivity.

Also Jeffrey you describe Mossadeq "Took" power as well as calling him a leftist when he was wildly popular with the whole entire country.
Mossadeq is the first elected leader in the middle east and he did not nationalize the oil fields as much as he just stopped Britain from stealing from the Iranians.
