Note
I drop two names into this podcast: Carol Hanisch and Betty Dodson. Carol was the member of the Redstockings radical feminist collective who coined the term “the personal is political,” which I determined that she did not really understand because she excluded many so different personal experiences (such as masturbation) from the political realm (and of masturbation, Hanisch basically said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar). It turned out that the misunderstanding was all mine, becuase what she meant was the content of your heart, your soul, your mind, your phone, your diary and your underwear drawer are public property; that in fact, you have no private life. Hanisch was a creature of television and way ahead of her time (because under digital conditions, there is no privacy whatsoever, nor is there a working concept of the private self, and they want to use our Ring camera to spy on us under the guse of “finding your dog” who already has a chip).
